Camera Movements
Camera movements are used in films and videos to grab the audiences attention to certain things in the scene. For example, the director could use a zoom which is the most common technique used. This is used to focus in on a subject. For the viewer, it can deliver a different emotional and psychological effect.

Camera Angles
The director can use camera angles to enhance their film by using it to build character. For example, if you use a low shot, you can develop the character as being confident and bigger that he/she believes. Also, camera angles can be used to fool the audience. It can give the viewer a different view on someone just from the camera angle.

Successes and Recommendations
The success we had in this short film was getting the sense of urgency across to the viewer which was the main goal. If I were to do this project again I would recommend that I wear the same clothes so the scene looks natural.

Critique

Critique The comments I received were good because I could learn from them. Someone said that music would have helped and I agree with that. Also, someone said that the tempo was good and really added to the feeling that they got while watching which was my intention. I feel like I edited the clips for the tempo the best. The time between my clips were very short allowing me to establish a more intense film. Also, I think my acting was alright. My classmates also thought my acting was done well. Also they really liked the sound I put in to make it sound like a real bell was ringing so I could make it seem like a good reaction shot. I feel like there is a lot of things that I could improve on but I think my filming and transitions could have been improved on.  My classmates thought I should add music to bring the audience in. The Kuleshov Effect

In 1921 a Russian filmmaker, Lev Kuleshov, created what was called the Kuleshov effect. Many consider this editing technique to be one of the most important, if not the most important, in the film industry. This also led to the film technique called montage. In the original example of the Kuleshov effect, he uses a bowl of soup, a child in a coffin, an expressionless face, and an attractive person. By putting the same shot of the expressionless face after every other shot, it creates different moods for each shot. After the bowl of soup, the viewer may see the person as hungry. After the child in the coffin, the person may seem like he/she is grieving. Finally, after the attractive person, the person may seem lustful. Even though after every shot the person’s face remains unchanged, the viewer gets a different view of the person’s emotions.
