MONTAGE
In the film The Karate Kid, the director uses the effect of montage to build up anticipation in the viewer. As the montage progresses, the protagonist, Daniel and his trainer go against the opposing teams to advance to the final round. Ultimately, the viewer knows at the end Daniel will face someone from Cobra Kai, the antagonist, in the final. The director uses montage to build suspense as the scenes cut to Daniel and members of Cobra Kai winning. This shows the viewer how both sides are prosperous until they must face each other. Overall, the director uses montage to build up anticipation for the final fight between Daniel and Cobra Kai.
